Retinotopic mapping
Retinotopic mapping is a standard procedure that is used to define the borders of early visual areas in occipital cortex. Subjects are scanned while viewing a rotating wedge or expanding ring that allows responses at different retinotopic locations to be 'tagged'. These borders can then be identified on computationally flattened representations of visual cortex.
