The technique of disparity is also highly used in 3D-Computer Vision for computation of depth from two-dimensional images. The system behaves mainly like the human example. Two cameras take pictures of the same scene, but they are displaced by a certain distance - exactly like our eyes. The computer then computes the depth from these two pictures.
